As a web and new media consultant,
I love working with individuals and organizations to provide them the tools to achieve their goals on the web. And with so much of our daily life migrating online, web presences for small businesses, non-profits, and individuals (especially freelance creative professionals) have been growing more and more important.
Your website is your storefront, your office, your resume and your book of samples. It is the projection onto the Internet of your work and reputation.
In addition to presenting you and your work in an clear, attractive, professional way, a well-designed website (one that you can maintain yourself):
- raises your profile by providing new, frequently interesting content in your subject area;
- helps manage your reputation through search engine optimization, directing search traffic for target keywords (like your name) to your site;
- organizes and unifies your disparate projects by gathering them under one banner
- provides a platform for generating revenue through advertising, endorsements, or sales of products; and
- establishes credibility by showcasing resume and expertise.
I've seen some other designers or online services who hold your information or website hostage, locking you into proprietary systems (for monthly fees). That's not how I work.
I want to empower you to take command of your own online presence, whether you continue to use my services or not. (I find that this strategy is both good ethics and good business, since I've developed many long-term relationships with my clients, some of whose sites you can
see here.)
About Matt

My name is Matthew Wrather. I have been using computers to design for print and websites since 1995.
Currently based in New Haven, Connecticut, I'm originally from Los Angeles, where I got my start as an
actor. I started designing ads, flyers, and websites to promote my own projects, and quickly realized that there was a burning need among individuals and small performers like me to harness the digital tools for branding, promotion, and communication.
These days, I mostly design websites for individuals—including
actors and small- to medium-sized organizations like non-profits, theaters, and local businesses.
If you are looking for a website, a logo, advertising or print design, or any other digital communication services, please have a look at my
portfolio and
pricing, and contact me with any questions!
